What is Family Lifestyle Photography?
Family lifestyle photography matters because real memories don’t happen in staged poses – they happen in your own space, doing the ordinary things that make your family uniquely yours. It’s the bedtime stories, the pancake mornings, the muddy shoes at the door, the spontaneous cuddles and even the temper tantrums! You’ll want to remember them all years from now. These are the moments that tell the story of your family’s life – not the perfectly posed versions, but the ones that actually feel true.
My approach is relaxed, unposed, and completely built around what makes your family your family. Whether you’re baking in the kitchen, reading on the sofa, wrestling on the living room floor, or heading up Bennachie for your usual Sunday walk, I’m there to quietly document it all. I’ll step in to gently guide things if needed, but mostly I let you just be together. The goal is for everyone – kids, adults, and even the camera-shy – to feel completely comfortable and forget the camera is there. Before your session, I’ll send a prep guide to make everything simple and stress-free, and we can even have a video call to chat through any questions.
I offer family lifestyle photography across Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, and Moray, capturing honest and meaningful images in your home or at your favourite outdoor spots. The final gallery reflects your life as it really is: your personality, your connections, the laughter, the quiet gestures, and all the little moments in between. Pricing
The cost is divided into two parts to give you flexibility. The first part is the session fee, which covers the photoshoot itself – the time spent together capturing your family in a relaxed, natural way. This fee doesn’t include any images, giving you the freedom to choose exactly what you’d like afterward.
Once you’ve seen your gallery, you can choose from a range of packages that include digital photos, professional prints, or both. There’s no pressure to decide anything upfront – you only pick what suits you best after seeing the final images.
And if you want something extra special, you can even add on a short video of your session, capturing not just how your family looks but how you interact, laugh, and move together. It’s a beautiful keepsake that brings the experience to life in a different way.
