Oh, and I almost forgot...
I’m Larissa - the face behind LK Photo & Video. I’m a wedding videographer and family lifestyle photographer based in Aberdeenshire, covering Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Moray and beyond.
I’ve always loved making films. I’ve got countless hours of footage from school trips, holidays, questionable teenage adventures, and everyday life - all saved on old hard drives (and probably a few dodgy USBs I should really sort through). But for a long time, I didn’t think it was something I could do properly. It was just something I enjoyed - usually with a camera in one hand and snacks in the other.
Then I had kids. And if anything makes you notice how fast time goes (and how much can change in a week), it’s becoming a parent. Suddenly, the everyday stuff - the cuddles, the noise, the routines - felt just as worth remembering as the big events. Probably more.
That’s really what drives what I do now. Filming weddings and taking photos of families comes from a genuine love of capturing real life. Not just the big moments, but the small, ordinary ones that actually matter most when you look back.
For me, weddings and family photography go hand in hand. A wedding video isn’t just for you - it’s something that can be passed down. It’s a way for your kids (and their kids) to see how it all started. These aren’t just nice clips and photos for now - they become part of your story for the long run.
Growing up, some of my favourite memories weren’t just the moments themselves, but the times spent reliving them – sitting with my grandparents for hours, looking at old diapositive slides (yep, those little light-up boxes of magic), or watching family videos of my aunts and uncles laughing, dancing, just being themselves. I can still hear the sound of their voices, the grainy hum of the projector, the comfort of it all. Those memories are everything.
That’s why this work means so much to me. Because I know what it feels like to want to hold on to someone. To want to see their face again, hear their laugh again – especially once they’re gone.
There’s nothing worse than searching for photos of someone you love and realising there aren’t many, or any at all. That thought has never left me, and it’s shaped the way I work today.
For me, capturing families and weddings isn’t just about creativity – it’s about making sure you have something real and lasting. Not staged perfection, but honest, emotional moments that reflect your story, your people, and the love that ties it all together.
This business isn’t just a job. It’s deeply personal. Every story I film or photograph is treated with the care I’d want for my own family. Because these aren’t just pictures or clips – they’re proof of the lives we’ve lived and the people we’ve loved.
